The arrival of Arturo Vidal takes the number of non-European Union players at Barcelona to five: Arthur, Malcom, Yerry Mina, Marlon Santos and Philippe Coutinho.
Registration rules, which will apply to the Spanish Super Cup on August 12 in Tangiers, mean that only three can be registered.
Both Marlon and Mina are in talks over exits with Ernesto Valverde believed to prefer having Gerard Pique, Samuel Umtiti, Clement Lenglet and Thmoas Vermaelen as his central defenders.
Coutinho is also in the process of applying for Portuguese citizenship, though it may not happen in time for the first competitive game of the season and could lead to one name being left out.
That man may be Vidal given that he will have only a few days of training with his new teammates.
Yerry Mina's future is decided
The signing of Arturo Vidal has made it clear that Valverde is not counting on Mina and has chosen Vermaelen as his fourth central defender.
Pep Segura's winter transfer window gamble came with the coaching staff barely knowing who he was and it showed as he rarely featured until the summer, where he shone for Colombia at the World Cup and is now on the market.
All that remains to be seen is if the club will insist on a buy-back clause in his sale.
