Ahead of Ronaldo imminent arrival: Juventus star set to undergo PSG medical

After being the foundation of the club's seven consecutive Scudetto titles, the former Italy international who recently announced his retirement from international football, is set to undergo medical with the French champions.

Buffon

The 40-year old veteran became a legend at the Turin outfit after seventeen years in the black and white jersey and is now preparing himself for a fresh challenge in Paris.

With the imminent arrival of Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo to the Old Lady, the Italian giant will need to sell to free up some space financially to cater for the Portuguese's wage demand and the former Azzurri goalkeeper was certainly primed to depart the club with whom he had enjoyed tremendous domestic success.

As part of the deal to fund the transfer of Ronaldo and the need to comply with Financial Fair Play(FFP) rule, Juventus would still need to sell despite Buffon leaving, and Argentine Gonzalez Higuain could also be on his way out following interest from Premier League side Chelsea.

As reported by Goal the veteran goalkeeper has agreed a two-year term with Paris-Saint German following an emotional farewell to the Turin-based club and is set for medical exams on Friday(today) while presentation to fans at the Parc des Princes could take place on Monday.

He will be under contract at Parc des Princes until June 2019, with the option to extend his stay for a further season.

He made a total of 656 appearances for the Old Lady in a glittering 17-year spell, although he never managed to lift the Champions League with Juve.
Now he is tasked with the challenge of spearheading a new challenge for the top trophy with PSG, who will look to improve on a last-16 finish last season under the tutelage of new coach Thomas Tuchel.

With Ronaldo's release clause slashed by 900 million euros, the possibility of the Portuguese leaving after almost ten years at the Spanish capital has increased and boosted significantly.
