DAMA Awards 2018: Facts and figures as business executives and industry players gather

The Developments in Africa Merit Awards is set up to recognize true continental sustainable exemplars including governmental, companies, brands and individuals that have been innovative and creative in pursuing sustainable growth and development imperatives.

Developments in Africa Merit Awards is aimed at celebrating innovations and creativity in Africa. It showcases the brilliant minds, companies, and institutions that are performing and delivering positive changes and positioning Africa within the global business environment. 

It will honour ceos, leaders, chairmen, group heads, presidents, governors, parliamentarians, executives, judiciary, gentlemen of the press, business, brands, products, and services as well as public and private officers that have excelled and demonstrated uncommon initiatives, drive and leadership in the African economy.

The winners would have made an understanding contribution to the development of the continent, the economic aspiration of its citizenry and the transformation of Africa's image in the international markets while displaying high standards of good corporate citizenship, social and environmental responsibilities.

The awards bring together prominent business leaders, entrepreneur and other high ranking governmental officials and individual from across the world to celebrate achievement and success of business, companies and people who have played a pivotal role in driving Africa's economic development forward. The quantity and quality of the entries this year award has been phenomenal and exceptional. It is notable that companies, institutions and personalities taking part in the award this year are not just focused on growing their profit but committed to sustaining local production for profitability that takes explicit account, the triple bottom line.

This year the awards will establish itself as the key annual events on the calendar of African business community. Every year we shall honour companies, institutions and personalities who have contributed significantly to the dynamic and people of Africa as we see today.

This awards will be reported in several print and electronic media that have large coverage. Some of them are Business Day, Daily Sun, the Guardian newspaper, the Vanguard, the Punch, Africa Magic, AIT, Channels, NTA etc.

This year DAMA awards will take place at Rockview Hotel Abuja on the 3rd of August, with red carpet starting on 5:00 PM(WAT) while the award dinner commences two hours later.
